Ectine (noun: ectinity) is an outherine gender quality that results from the uncommon combination or intersection of ordinous and exordinous qualities - masculine, feminine, androgynous, and neutral intersecting with outherinity, maverinity, ilyaginity, and others. This means that one ordinous quality and one exordinous quality come together to create new outherine qualities.

Ectinity falls under the syncrine outherinities, outherine qualities that are created from unique combinations of qualities (Category 3 outherinities.)
