Ecotable App launches in France
Ecotable is the new platform that rates and promotes restaurants that reach certain sustainable metrics in France.
“Bien sur mon assiette, bien sur la planete”
A staggering 91% of diners in France want restaurants to offer more locally-sourced, organic and home-made food. Remember, France is the only country that legally obliges restaurants to put a seal saying “fait-maison” (made at home) near the dishes on the menu as a way to let diners know when a dish is fresh or industrially produced or frozen.
Ecotable was born as a reaction to that and more. France has a strong gastronomical culture, and diners not only want to know whether their food is fresh, but also where it comes from and how it was produced, because remember “you are what you eat, but you’re also what you eat eats.”
Founded in 2019, ecotable makes your search for sustainable and organic restaurants easy. It also completely audits the restaurant based on different sustainable metrics: local, meat from open farms, organic produce, zero-waste, vegan, short supply-chain. One can take an example audit directly on their website.
Then ecotable rates out of 3 stars the restaurant:
In Transition
Advancing
An example for everyone
Ecotable advises restaurateurs after the audit—offering constructive goals and responsible practices to improve their score.
Ecotable is now a solid platform for foodies in France, a place where restaurateurs want to be showcased for their virtues, and diners can discover exemplary eateries
