I wanted to talk a little bit about what goes into making up your ColieCo order.
First of all, hello! I am Nicole, owner, designer, head of manufacturing, order packer, tea drinker of ColieCo Lingerie :)Ā
What is ethical lingerie? A question i have been asked more times than I can count whenever somebody asksĀ āwhat I doā (gosh I hate that question, like.... I hike, cycle, I eat nice food, I enjoy the company of my friends, I go to the beach..... OHHHH you mean what do I do for a living? Is that what you think defines me?!?)Ā
ANYWAY, I donāt think there is a simple way to answer. Working ethically means that I (and anyone else who works for me) gets paid a fair wage for the work done, in a safe, comfortable environment.Ā
I work very hard to work with suppliers and tradespeople who fit with my ethics too.
I use organic cotton and bamboo, line end fabrics, family run print houses, indie artists, a female photographer, recycled RPET fabric, English knit elastic & printed labels, recycled and recyclable packaging, work towards a zero waste studio.... the list could go on and on!
We are always striving to be better, and look for other ways of doing things.Ā
I am quite exciting that we are installing solar panels to the studio this year too!Ā
If you have any questions about how I run the studio, lets have a chat about it!
