      “There’s a reason I have nightmares, isn’t there? You don’t care enough to make them stop. There’s a reason I have to suffer- but, tell me. Why me? I’m just the Sea.” She’s almost crying, so terrified at the aspect of the truth in her dreams and concrete in her knowledge that this is a normality for her.

      Luke opened his mouth as if to say something, then closed it carefully. If she’d asked, he’d really tell her whatever she wanted to hear. But something he wouldn’t say to her face unprompted? He’d try so hard to be happy, but Luke was apprehensive.

        “I never had a family. Yes, y’always group the Sea and the Sky together- but I have no mother, no father, no siblings. I have no one that loves me because that’s what they’re supposed to do. The person that loved me once ran, thinking that I would disappear. The thing is though? I don’t leave. People leave me. The water’ll always be there.”

  The entity had a hand in all of the outcomes, good or bad. She didn’t know the role they would end up playing in history but Ana tried to play her part as well as she could. She used to go onto the ships and talk to captains and commanders in attempts to win favor. Because it was so rare for someone to follow a woman’s direction during the times, the side that would listen to her advice usually turned out to be the victor.

☾ A sleep headcanon:

    He doesn’t sleep well nor often. Restless and turning, the movement of the days tend to keep him up at night because the tides rarely stop going.

    At the mention of her name, the Sea couldn’t help but let a smile appear on his lips. Empathy was a good friend of his, and they did have a ton of fun together. With the amount of times he’s left her calling for him- in a drunken state-, he’s working on being there more for her. Whether warranted or not.
