Side/Background Characters Masterlist:
This is for my OC series "Stones of Power" which takes place in [unnamed world]. These are the OCs that are primarily side characters in each others stories, their own stories exist in the ether but will generally not be developed (some may transition to being main characters at some point but are not at that point yet). Red words mean that I haven't named the red thing yet (usually locations)- I will be changing them to actual names in the future. Events in time are referenced around "0 AP" which is the year in which Natalie is 15 y/o, when her story starts and mostly takes place. The profiles cover their name, species, location, and magic. Some physical details for the more notable of them.
Echinops: A human with ice elemental heritage, possible even half-elemental. Born around 200 BP, appears to be 30. She hails from the wild territory north of the Shadowlands and during the time of the story she can be found in the western coast of the Republic of Ranyoh, near the Airet Federation border. She is attuned to the Stone of Death and wears it on an ornamental bracer, also has a strong connection to ice magic. She has pale-porcelain skin, short light blue hair, and blue eyes. She wears a halter tank crop top and hip window harem pants, both in shades of blue. She has pointed ears with silver earrings and wears extra bracelets alongside the stone's bracer.
Xiphium: An undead human. Born around 100 BP and died when they were in their early 30s. Because they were brought back by Echinops many years after their death, the decay is still prominent, they have purple skin, a large purple mohawk, and purple eyes (glowing). They wear bandages around their torso and arms, large tattered pants, and a red eye patch.
Ranuth: A shadow elemental. He is possessing Zarton during the story and is the main antagonist. He is very strong and powerful but has very little 'character' outside of "be evil, conquer the world."
Karuya: A fire elemental. They are possessing Rowen. At this point, they have been merged for so long that they don't have an individual personality, but if forced to speak for themself, they are softspoken and friendly.
Kurai: A shadow elemental. She is generally passive toward humans and had trained Sasha in using the Stone of Shadow. She can be found in the castle area of the Shadowlands but cares little about anyone other than Sasha (who she grew fond of).
King and Queen of the Shadowlands: [Male Name] Darkane and [Female Name] Darkane, both humans, parent-age (deceased). They are generally good parents, although somewhat neglected their son (Zarton) in favor of his sister (Sasha) when the later attuned to the Stone of Shadow. They die in 5 BP at the hand of Ranuth!Zarton.
Sovereigns of the Airet Federation: Rikyu Zephyrus and Jamal Zephyrus, both human, parent-age. They are great parents to their three adopted children (First, Second, and Ella) but do not hold much power in their nation.
First and Second Children of the Sovereigns: [Male Name] Zephyrus and [Male Name] Zephyrus, both human, in their 20s. The older brothers of Ella, both adopted. Good brothers but generally useless.
King and Queen of the Water Kingdom: [Male Name] Marriner and [Female Name] Marriner, both human, young parent age (deceased). The parents of Riina, good parents but did not prepare her for rulership (although in their defense, they thought they had her whole life). Died at the hands of Ranuth!Zarton's troops in 4 BP.
King and Queen of the Earth Empire: [Male Name] Rosid and [Female Name] Rosid. The king is human and the queen in half-elemental (nature). King is parent-age and Queen looks the same but is closer to 1,000 years old. Distant but not neglectful, let their children run wild.
Flame King: Real name unknown, he is a tyrannical ruler of the Republic of Ranyoh. In his later years of adulthood (50-something). He only got into politics for his own personal gain, he taxes to the extreme and has a zero-tolerance policy for lawlessness, usually punishable by either execution or imprisonment without due trial.
Arya: A human. Early 20s. Hails from the Shadowlands' southern border, escaped Ranuth's takeover. The head of the Shadowland peoples' alliance and a tertiary member of the Republic's rebellion.
Arya's Crew: Mostly human. Also known as the Shadowland peoples' alliance, the group of escapees from the coup who are helping to extract anyone they can from the totalitarian state that Ranuth imposed on the area.
[Name Pending]: A human. A notable member of Arya's Crew. They have a strong connection to Shadow magic despite not being attuned to the stone, they are the people's choice for new ruler once Zarton is deposed.
Unnamed Nature Elemental: A nature elemental. The one who terrorizes the Astral Woods, which lead to Thea's trauma and ultimate departure from the Earth Empire. Is the embodiment of wild animals and is known to impose the curse of werewolf.
Many more! Other side characters and single-time interactions happen in the story, but generally don't need an explanation since they're only seen once or don't impact the plot in any significant way.
