With Melkor, while they might have been loyal and a spy to a being of destruction and violence, they had relative freedom to do as they wished. They could hunt how they wanted, when they wanted, whomever they wanted as long as it was elf or humankind. It really did not matter much if killings were quiet or not, as long as it brought fear to the Children. This could be done in many different ways, by many different servants. Echiar never felt like they were forced to be a vampire, and rather enjoyed it. This form would allow them to travel even further, flying high in the skies or prowling from trees and behind buildings. At this point, the beings in Valinor seemed uptight to them. Lmao.

Nothing will have been as refreshing as the first taste from the strong elf, downed after a long and thrilling chase that had exhausted them. The way they plead and struggled, being made silent from the jaws of the vampire-to-be, draining away the very source of their life. This is something that they could and would control, being allowed such free indulgence to do it. There is also a thrill from doing something that would upset the inhabitants of Valinor. There is a thrill from being congratulated for the feat.

It was a very transformative and defining moment in their life, sending them on a path of darkness, death, and destruction. Their blood drinking turns into something that is more of an addiction, and brings them great pleasure for some time. However, it does become a problem hard to control, especially when they become more friendly to elves, dwarves, or humans in the third age. They do not wish to harm them, but is drawn to them.

Due to the time frame in which Echiar lived in Valinor, was corrupted by Morgoth and joined his legions in Middle-earth, they never really experienced the loss of comrades early on. They never mourned the loss of any of the other Ainur or Eldar, but they likely had those who mourned their fall into the clutches of Morgoth. Echiar just had fun being carefree and flying around as a spy, but with rich reward of fresh blood - often. Who cares what's happened to the Ainur?

After Melkor's fall, Echiar had lost a lost of their friends, as not many werewolves, vampires, balrogs, etc they spent time with survived Utumno and made it to Mordor. Or many that did, were killed by heroes of the Second Age or banished away. So they grew lonely with mainly the wraiths and orcs and tasty humans being around.

They start to move away from the rule of Mairon and make reconnections with their Maia friends or acquaintances, who now see they are still alive. Echiar had forgot what this closeness was like, so cherishes new friendships with humans, elves, or Ainur and does much that they can to not break these bonds again. It has just taught them not to take true friendship for granted and that positive connections with others is fulfilling also - not just going off to do whatever you want without consequence.
