I’m reviving my first D&D character ever for an Eberon campaign and I’m so excited aaaa.
Her name is Nira and she’s a half orc rogue.
Been working on this off and on for a while and I finally decided to sit down and finish it. Some Alicia backstory stuff.
To ALL those who want to play as a Warforged, here’s an important detail to bring to your DMs. Whenever they say you can’t be healed by magic or potions, bring up this vital piece of evidence to the contrary.
Warforged Healing Rights!!!
I’ve seen this mistake happen a few times. So I’ve felt the need to spread the importance of keeping your construct buddies alive or saving your bacon.
Chapter 92 The Hanged Man
There was the briefest moment of surreal quiet as two opposing herds of mammals charged across a grassy plain. The short bit of time before their sticks of belching fire were in range of each other so that one herd could deal death to the other. It was not a true silence, the moving parts and heavy breathing and clanging metal and stomping boots provided noise enough. The quiet came from a more…

The Professional Gamer - January 10, 2020
Hello and Happy New Year! I hope everyone else had a good break for the holidays and didn’t have too rough of a time coming back to work full-time again. If, on the other hand, you are somehow still on holidays, just don’t tell me and pretend that things are too rough. I’ve been back at work for a week now and starting to get back into the normal swing of things. I did take most of Monday just to catch up on email and then the rest of the week working on partially completed projects from before my break. But you probably don’t want to hear about that. You’d rather hear about what I did during break, right?
Well, you might be mistaken. I spent the first week of break running to various family functions (or preparing food for those functions). The early part of the second week was recovery and cleaning up the house to host for New Year’s Eve. We spent NYE with some friends, watching one of my favorite movies: Tokyo Godfathers. We also had cocktails and ended up staying up until about 5 AM having a good long talk with one of our friends.
If you haven’t watched Tokyo Godfathers, you should give it a chance. A quick search claims that it’s available on Sony Crackle, but as I have never heard of that before, I’m going to assume that you’ll have to purchase it. The older translation of the film has some bad homophobic and transphobic language in it (which, from my understanding, is not actually present in the Japanese that is being spoken), but the story over all is very uplifting and full of fun coincidences and setup/payoff moments. GKIDS has announced that they will be re-releasing the film in high definition with a new translation sometime later this year. I will probably buy a new copy in order to better enjoy it in the future, and I recommend that you do as well.
The rest of break was mostly spent reading the new D&D Eberon source book and playing Warcraft. I got myself into Legion content now, and although the story is still interesting to me, I think Warlords might have been more fun if I had experienced it at launch. I haven’t had as much time to play this past week, but I’m hoping that I’ll only spend a few more weeks leveling to get to the current expansion. I’m not sure if I’ll start playing with other’s more once I get there, but at least I’m getting close to my goals in the game. I did join Chris’s guild, but haven’t really introduced myself to them too much. I’m going to try to reach out to them more in the future and get to know them all. After all, I might actually make some new friends.
I’m really enjoying the Eberon setting. I’ve always thought the concept of a setting where magic has been applied to create technology would be interesting. Using magical effects in the same way that our society harnessed scientific findings to improve quality is life is a compelling concept for me. I also love the noir setting, where everybody is making some sort of compromise. Once I get a little more familiar with it, I think I’ll have to try a short game with my friends.
And that’s all I have to talk about for now. I’m heading to a hot pot restaurant tomorrow, so hopefully I can talk a bit about that next week. Until then, have a great week, and game on!
