sweet asian tropics and stray cats pepper the streets as tanned locals capitalize on tourists — attempting to sanitize the flavour to match a western palette. it’s 5pm here and we’ve just scheduled an adventure to a jungle before enjoying a lengthy massage for only 450 bacht (special requests for strong, deep tissue efforts). showered just so I could roll around bed to do a bit of reading before heading out in the evening (the temperature is much more forgiving). a cough woke me from a pleasant dream I can’t fully piece together — key takeaway being i was happy there. there was contentment and some kind of romance. ...and I can’t help but wonder when I’ll cash in all my good karma and discard all my trust issues for some kind of happily ever after. maybe I’ll break the typecast of the healer, the therapist, the in-between girl, the training relationship — the one women go to when they want to transform, evolve. maybe I’ll meet someone ready and already pieces together (following a relationship like ones I typically find myself in) and I can do all those fun heteronormative things my 33 year old heart has been begging for. but none of this matters now. I’m in the asias and trying to organize my dreams and decide which one I want to manifest next. sending love and sweet gaysian affection from the other side xo
