I think I can understand the feeling. My best friend decided to go live in France some years ago, and now we just see each other like once a year. I'm happy for her, but also sad... But congrats on the promotion!

I'm super happy that she has this opportunity and it's not like we'll never see each other again since she only lives a few minutes away. It's just going to be kind of lonely at work while I adjust to the change.

I maybe have a short vacation from work next month. Work is mostly stressful because we have a new scheduler/supervisor and I understand she's still learning and I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt and while the actual work is getting easier, the big boss is an idiot and just wants more business despite not having the staff to handle it so there's all this talk of quitting so it's a little disheartening sometimes.
As for family stuff, there's really no way to get away from that unfortunately. Though I've been trying to make plans to get away on my off days so that I have at least a few hours where I'm not stuck dealing with it.
