Heart pounding, harsh breathing, muscles screaming, yet Sakura couldn’t help smiling on the thought of finally running away from that horrible place. Plus she wasn’t alone. No, she had her longtime friend Naruto at her side. Once they lost the men chasing them they would be free.

No more torture. No more experiments. No more suffering.

They could live a free live being normal for once without having to stress of pleasing someone of their given powers.

They weren’t normal. Never were since they were babies. They had been given to the Uchiha Company, or so they had been told. On the thought of that place, her marking of their symbol itched on her right shoulder. A marking that she hated.

They branded them, but they didn’t stop there. They had tried brainwashing them—twisting their minds that they were loyal to the Uchihas, and will also will be. It didn’t work on her and she made sure it didn’t on Naruto. Each day was a try and fail test until a young man by the name of Itachi help released them.

She was hesitate on the chance of escape. It could have been a test. A test that if she failed to refuse him she’ll be severing punish for. But Naruto believed him. A trait that she was astound of: his ability of seeing into the eyes of others.

“Sakura, you’re starting to hover a bit,” Naruto chirped in.

She blinked and found that she was hovering in the air. Behind her, her wings twitched, but stop in motion. Her long peach wings tucking close to her body when she stop. Her feet touching the solid ground again. “Sorry,” she said.

He smiled.

She turned around and took a deep breathe. “I think we lost them already.”

He started to laugh that she liked listening to. When he stopped he told her, “We lost them a while ago.”

She lightly bump him in the head, but he didn’t mind. Or perhaps he didn’t notice.

She stared at him. Naruto her friend that suffered with her since they were babies only she was a year older than him. His left ear twitched. That happened to look similar to a fox. Everything he had was from a fox. A legendry fox so she heard. He bear markings of three whiskers on each of his cheeks, the ears that had yellow fur to match his hair color, and four tails of the same color.

What she was given from the experiments was wings—twice the length of her body—that can retreat back in her body, and healable blood. She also discovered that her strength was getting a bit stronger over the years. She push back her bangs behind her ears. As long as she remember she had strange hair color: pink.

She glanced down when she felt her hand being taken. Naruto was holding her small hand. She focus on his face where they stared at each other for few minutes. Then she lightly squeezed his hand which he returned.

No matter what they will always have each other. No matter if they continue running from the Uchihas that wanted them back for their selfish desires. They will stay free.
