There aren't many carriers around that will be knee to knee and knee to nape for seven year olds. This is one of them! The EasyFeel preschool buckle carries my seven year old with great ease. The waistband is sturdy but not hard and I could feel it moulding around m hips to help distribute her weight. The waist goes down to 29 inches and I could tighten the straps enough to avoid a feeling of back-pull. She's slim so the panel was a little wide for her, but that means it would work just as well for bigger and broader children. The straps are lovely and wide and squishy which means they feel great on my shoulders. She didn't feel heavy at all! It's safety tested to 57lb (similar to the toddler Tula and Beco for example, which is the highest current testing) but it's very sturdily made and it's clearly strong enough for much heavier children).
