"You know the emperor," The captain sighed. "As stoic as always. He's… he's ordered the patrols to wait when they come back in."

The aide hissed. "Do you think he's–?"

The captain frowned. "I don't know. I only know that of the two of them, Emperor Technoblade is the one with more logic and foresight. He knows we're stretching ourselves with this hunt, and he's balancing his need to protect the empire with his need to find Emperor Philza."

The aide sighed. "Gods protect Emperor Philza, wherever he may be."

"From your lips to their ears," the Captain agreed.

But the Antarctic Empire is an ancient civilization - once prosperous, and even had the entire world under their rule. However, there was a small uprising of people that led to the two rulers being sealed away in ice.

Everyone, every historian, thinks they uprose because the two rulers - the Angel of Death, and the Blood God - were tyrannical, but that couldn’t be further from the truth

In actuality, the AOD and Blood God were some of the fairest rulers in the world. Everyone was wellfed, had jobs, were paid equally, and crime was at an all-time low. The reason there was an uprising is because the Son of Death, Wilbur, was jealous - being an Angel of Death, Phil could not die. But even if Phil could, there was the Blood God - a man of strength, skill, compared to the bard that was the Son of Death.

So, Wilbur stained blood on the name of the rulers, calling them murderers, tyrants, and humans will always be the angriest followers on Earth.

Fast forward 2000 years to three best friends - a college student and two paranormal investigators. Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo.

One Saturday night, Tommy was dragged to an abandoned mine shaft that Tubbo and Ranboo received a hint by an anonymous source (Mumza) online. The mineshaft is frostbite level cold, which they prepared for.

While searching, they find relics of the past trapped in ice - tapestries, books, jewelry, weaponry, etc. 

Tommy, at first, is concerned cause this looks like a damn museum and shouldn’t be messed with. Ranboo is also concerned, but Tubbo is documenting everything. Taking pictures, writing theories, etc

Then, Tubbo brings attention to dark blue silhouettes in the ice. They’re not quite clear, but look like two individuals - one striking with a battleaxe, the other reaching a hand out to their companion and seemingly having wings.

“COOL!” Literally.

Tubbo puts his hand on the ice and jumps back, surprised. He says the spot was hot as hell. Confused, Ranboo and Tommy put their hands over the silhouette.

Burning hot.

“Why the hell is the ice biting??” 

Tommy made absolute sure the ice was burning and -

The ice cracked

It cracked faster than the boys could process running, and, suddenly, two figures fall to the floor, taking their first breaths they’ve had in centuries.
