Ā Ā Ā A rough snapping of calloused fingers before her nose rouses Mia from the never-ending string of thoughts that constantly plague her active mind. Unamused azure irises shift from her partnerās hand to his annoyed face and her lips curve into a frown, her own hand raising to shove his away.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āWere ya even listeninā to a thing I jusā said, miss?ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā No. I donāt see why I should have been considering all you were doing
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā was running your damn mouth. ā
Ā Ā Ā Honestly, why did she have to get stuck with a Central obsessed creep?
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā (Ā To keep an eye on me, most likely. They never give me a break, do they?
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā No...Iām far too rebellious to be given free reign over anything important.Ā )
A nearly inaudible grumble passes through parched lips as she pushes past her comrade and continues their walk down the center of the deserted town. The place had been absolutely crawling with Akuma since they arrived and it was rather surprising that the attacks had ceased. Though usually when they stop shooting it means theyāve begun to think of a strategy--which also leads her to believe that there are higher level Akuma amongst their ranks.
Ā Ā Ā The tell-tale sound of an explosion and the shaking of the ground beneath their feet captures the attention of the Exorcists, making them both pause and turn in alarm. This minor distraction is just enough to pull Mia from her attentive senses, opening a window of vulnerability. And in that window, a hidden Akuma fires between her and Centralās lap-dog, barely missing itās two targets. The force of the impact at their feet sends them flying in opposite directions and Mia tumbles, rolls, and crashes into the side of an already collapsing building, knocking an enormous hole in the front of the store. Groans and complaints fumble from her lips as her body aches from the impact, scrapes already beginning to bleed and bruises beginning to form.
Ā Ā Ā The exorcist staggers to her feet, using a broken chair to pull herself up, and shakes her head roughly to remove the dirt and grime thatās dusted her raven locks. Her first priority is to check up on her mission partnerāeven though she hopes heās either unconscious, seriously injured, or dead of all thingsāas she heads for the gaping hole in the wall, boots scraping against the dirt-covered floor.
Ā Ā Ā Glad for the thick-soled boots she wears, Mia navigates over the pile of rubble at the entranceāand exitāof the hole, stepping over steel rods and concrete blocks. Her ears can vaguely make-out an ongoing fightāa struggle, by the sounds of itābut the cloud of dust the Akuma kicked up has yet to settle. Nonetheless, she takes confident steps in the direction of where she last stood, pissed off and Innocence at the ready.
