It’s set in Earitei, of course, and starts Neyah, with Inez as a prominent supporting character (deuteragonist(?)) as well. Neyah’s parents are also important in the first half. It’s split into two parts, with the first half tackling stuff listed as backstory material on Neyah’s Th page, and the second half detailing what’s described as the ‘present’. Can’t share any more for spoiler reasons. I’d overall describe the novella itself as being very ‘contemporary story but with fantasy backdrop’ due to the nature of the story.

Also, the story does deal with some potentially triggering material, such as child abuse and suicidal ideation, so keep that in mind if you want to volunteer for alpha/beta reading in the future.
