If you ever wondered what books are used in music schools, this is a list of music theory, music history, and music research books and online resources from beginner to Doctorate.
This covers books from RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) from beginner to ARCT, Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, Artist Diploma, and Doctorate in Music.
There are physical books in the first half and online resources in the second half, along with study tips, where to find chapter outlines and quizzes, and full list of links to everything mentioned.
There will also be a part 2 that covers piano practical materials.

My Method to Learning ANY Song By Ear
If anyone can help me, it could be Beato...
When a song ends on an album you know well, can you predict the starting pitch of the next song before it begins? (Just being able to sing it is fine, no need to name the key. For these purposes, only being able to do this when you know the key of each song by name does not count)
Yes, and I have relative pitch
Yes, and I have perfect pitch
Yes, and I’m a musician but don’t have either (write your instrument in tags!)
Yes, but I don’t have any musical training
No, and I am a musician but do not have relative or perfect pitch
No, and I have relative pitch
No, and I have perfect pitch
No, and I have no musical training
Huh???

Please reblog so this can reach more people! Feel free to add more info in the tags - your musical exposure, what instrument(s) you play, if you can sing in harmony, whether or not you think you have a good memory, whatever you’d like - or don’t, I don’t make the rules. Have a lovely day!

Ok I have I have a serious question for the general public. When have a song stuck in your head do you hear the whole band/Orchestra or just a part? And can you hear the individual instruments in the song if you were actually listening to it? I hear all the parts in both instances and can play the individual instruments back separately. Is everyone like that? or am I crazy?
