On this International Women's Day I wanted to honour an incredibly brave woman. Her name is Monica. Her gender equality struggles and victories internally and externally have coloured her entire life. Monica is an exquisite and rare human being whose gender identity is like that of a moving target. Sometimes her fluid gender is liberated and compelling and at other times it is neutral and even confusing to not only others but the Monica that is trying to fit into a world that has not fully accepted the likes of her and folks like her. I've been honoured to witness the miracle of Monica's gender-fluid movements from a feminine self-connection to a masculine self-connection and all the subtle variances in between.
