An accomplished entrepreneur, Rob Maille of Acton, Massachusetts, shares his business acumen with others as a published author. In addition, Rob Maille of Acton currently volunteers as an e-mentor for business students at the University of New Hampshire's business school. E-mentoring, a growing trend in today's connected educational environment, allows students to dialogue with professionals from nearly anywhere in the world. It can help a student find a mentor who otherwise would be too far away, or whose schedule would make traditional face-to-face meetings difficult. At the University of New Hampshire, it helps students in many disciplines connect with professionals and business people from all over the state and the country. The program has become a special resource for students in the university's elective entrepreneurship class. Students' interests range from the commercial to the nonprofit, and the e-mentorship program allows each one to find a practicing entrepreneur in a relevant industry. In addition, because this particular e-mentorship model focuses on in-state professionals, the students have the opportunity to meet in person with the professional and develop a dynamic, inspiring relationship.
