the plaza is busy, despite the late hour of the day and the cold that was starting to seep through his coat. hyunbin drops off the bag of clothes and toys and slightly regrets not dragging anyone with him to the charity event. there were a few numbers on his contact list where he was sure they would have agreed without hesitation. now that he was already there, though, the only option he had was to have fun and hope he either meets someone he knows or makes new friends.
the first thing he does is get something to eat but just standing there and staring at his phone quickly becomes boring, even if he has something to keep his mouth busy and while hyunbin can’t actually do more than somehow balance on ice skates, he decides to enter the rink. the crowd at the stall with the ice skating shoes just cleared up so hyunbin got himself a pair and quickly put them on before heading for the rink and the penguins that were standing in a row along the wall. they were usually meant for kids and there to teach them how to skate without them falling, but hyunbin had no one else to hold on to and despite his towering height didn’t feel the slightest sense of embarrassment when he claimed a penguin for himself.Â
there were people looking at him, but hyunbin paid little attention to them; someone is always looking anyway. it’s not until a vaguely familiar face from the corner of his eye catches hyunbin’s attention that he finally looks up and releases one of the handles sticking out of the penguin to, quite enthusiastically, wave at jinyoung.Â
“hyung! jinyoung hyung, hi!” now even more people were looking, but hyunbin was too busy smiling and trying to skate closer to the one person he knew to pay any mind to how much attention he was calling to himself.Â
