First date?

Dylan takes Ethan to the opera. They go out for dinner first, gourmet Italian, where Ethan converses enthusiastically in Italian to the waiting staff, orders wine like a connoisseur, and proceeds to tell Dylan all about the time he met Bryn Terfel.

Ethan does enough talking for the both of them.

Their typical Saturday night?

Ethan prepares an assortment of cheeses to watch the football. Dylan insists he’s not going to watch the game this time because the team they support is terrible. 

He watches from the dinner table behind the sofa and will stand up and shout in disgust, move around the room, do the dishes, return to the back of the sofa, exclaim that the umpire is clearly suffering from macular degeneration and should see a specialist, then wordlessly joins Ethan on the sofa and nibbles a piece of cheese while Ethan smiles at him adoringly.

Who’s top/Who’s bottom?

Once Ethan gets that hang of things Dylan can hardly keep up.

Their wedding day plans?

They get married on a tiny island in the middle of a large, still lake surrounded by mountains. Guests are carried across the lake on little white rowboats. Leaves of gold and red and brown flutter down from the trees all around them. 

As Ethan’s best man, Cal gives a short speech about how his little brother deserved only the very, very best, and that he is trusting Dylan to take care of him. He finishes by lifting his glass and saying to Ethan that mum would be proud. 

Bday gifts they give each other?

Ethan gets Dylan nautical antiques and history books.

Dylan gets Ethan tickets to music concertos, operas, theatre, and special art exhibitions depending on what is showing at the time.

International market tours where Ethan runs giddily from stall to stall buying cheese and wine.
