Dystopia Idea After Watching the Republican Debate Snippets
A world where everyone when talking in a public forum has to conform to facts that are falsifiable, that is when facts can be proven and disproven. The penalties for lying, creating propaganda, and distorting the truth are severe, so that no one can fall back on lazy stereotypes to describe refugees or to blame rape victims. Everyone is subject to this, including presidents, jail wardens, and teachers.
In other words, it would be a world where the Republican party in its current state could not exist, because all the potential candidates would be in jail serving time for spreading slander about Planned Parenthood, American Muslims, and gun violence victims. Their supporters would have to take remedial classes about kindness, about war and about veterans, so that they cannot take lives in hate crimes or espouse stupidity.
Would this be a dystopia, and why? What would be the downsides of refusing to tolerate falsehoods?
