Session 1: 2013-08-24 (Sa) Team Kickoff Meeting
Nothing like a little reunion.  Today marked the kickoff of FTC Team 7351, Dynamic Signals.  It also marked the return of the team whiteboard:
The team took some time to reflect on the offseason and their efforts post Robozoids in the FLL. Â Early this year, the team demonstrated the team robot and the principles of FLL to kids and parents alike at the Woodland Middle School 7th Grade Science Fair. Â Not bad for a bunch of FLL Rookie (I guess not any more) 6th graders. Â The event led to a signup sheet filled with interest for FLL teams in 2013. Â Following this show of interest, Steve K. worked with teachers at the school to initiate grant paper in hopes of bringing FLL to the school in a sustainable manner.
The team then talked about migration from FLL to FTC and what to expect in their rookie FTC season. Â Steve M. shared some of his experiences in working the 2013 World Championships as a Safety Advisor. Â This led to discussions about possible primary roles for team members and the initiation of concepts related to sponsorships (much more to come).
The team worked on some design graphics as mockups for a team logo. Â As FTC enhances robot functionality based on many signals from the environment around it while team members are expecting to reach out for signals from the community to enhance their knowledge in fields key to success, the team name was revealed as Dynamic Signals. Â The need to receive and transmit signals in an ever changing environment to lead to overall team success.
Finally, the team decided no time like the present to jump into action. Â So they rolled up their sleeves and initiated their first robot chassis from a model design provided by Pitsco.
Get ready to receive the signals from this new juggernaut, Dynamic Signals.
