Lapping up Blood and Water || Dylan & Vesper
The hunger, the fire... it burns - BURNS! My whole body aches, the pain of the burns has seeped deep into my bones... Not enough power to heal... Blood. Thick, sweet blood... I need blood! No, I can't kill, not again... Vesper had been lying by the lake and suffering from his injuries for near four days. His craving was doing fine until the damned fire wench interrupted the first bit of sleep he had had since the attack. No amount of cold lake water could help kick in his healing factor. The pain was pleasurable at first, he thought it would be just enough to silence those shadows... Alas, now the wretched beasts won't shut up! They had no reason to shut up now, she had humiliated him, taken a picture of his twitching body on her phone to constantly remind her of her victory and of his shame. Vesper needed blood, or else there was no way this wound was going to heal and those things silence. However no matter how badly he needed it he couldn't bare the thought of having to kill... Vesper... cooed a voice, the voice so similar to his that it filled him with hate. Think of the power it brings you... You'll feel better... You know exactly who to drain, don't be scared... You've been curious for so long about it, we know you have... So why not find out? What does angelic blood have to offer? What power can it give you... Vesper stared blankly at the water, his rational mind drifting away from him, carried away my the ripples he could see in the moons reflection on the lake. He had come to a decision... He got up quickly and desperately tried to ignore the pain, sliding his shirt and jacket gently over his weak and pale frame before grabbing his sickle in his belt.
The door was locked and far too obvious, he had to try another route. Climbing... Climbing up and through the window, it's open... so easy... Vesper crouched on the window frame and peered into the room to see where the angel slept. As soon as the sleeping figure was in his line of vision Vesper slithered silently into the room. It was too late to change his mind now, he couldn't handle going to the healers and suffering the humiliation that came with the story of his defeat. He didn't want to ask of Dylan's help either... He wanted the wound to scar... Vesper loomed over Dylan, not risking the sound of even a breath. Do it..! He slid his sickle out of his belt loop, it gleamed as it cut through a moon beam the flooded a small area of the room through the curtains. Vesper held the blade to the dreamers throat, moving it down through the air as if imagining the blood flowing out of his neck...
His eye turned to a snake like appearance, the pupils slit and iris' blue... He could feel the four fangs growing from his maw, yet he couldn't force the blade to run across Dylan's neck... Vesper froze there for a moment. No no no! I can't... I can't do this to him, he doesn't deserve this... what the bloody hell am I doing... What would the angelic blood do to him..? Would it burn him out? Would tasting even a drop of it send him to hell? It wasn't worth it, taking the risk on his eternal being or on hurting someone who he considered somewhat of a friend - at least he seemed like the type that would be a good friend if you were his. Vesper fought off the burning pain of wounds and hunger, today was not his day to feed. He turned his head up and lifted the blade above Dylan a bit more before beginning to turn away.
