*** // ( it’s three in the morning and my muse unexpectedly arrives at your muse’s home. )
He wonders sometimes if staying in a beat up old apartment of his own is truly the best idea --- someone so much as sneezes too hard and the whole building might go up in flames! That had, thankfully, not happened, but might as well have. He might have preferred that to the mild tremors and subsequent poorly excused power outage, at least then he wouldn’t have simply up and walked out of the place with nothing but the clothes on his back and his front door keys. Yes. Indeed. He might have preferred a fire.
That would also be easier to explain when Wright opened his door.
“...” It... was hardly polite to show up at this time and simply stand there when the door was answered, and no doubt the state of him gave anxieties abundant. ( He had, after all, walked halfway across town in his hastily shoved on clothes and coat, hair slicked back with nervous sweat and missing his glasses --- not even wearing his contacts. ) Hardly polite and hardly kind. However... words of any good meaning seemed to have escaped him. Perhaps he left his vocabulary at his apartment.
“I’m... aware its late, forgive me.” Three AM. Early, or late? Why was he having that internal monologue? Was he stalling? He felt like he might have been stalling. For goodness sake, Miles, you’re a grown man, not a blubbering infant! “I’m not quite sure how I got here. I can... be on my way, if it’s ---” He trailed off absently, rubbing one arm with the other bent over his chest protectively.
