ANNOUNCING #DVAM2021 theme: No Survivor Justice Without Racial Justice π Domestic violence is inextricably linked to all forms of violence, and to end domestic violence, we must dismantle anti-Blackness, other types of racism, discrimination, & structures that perpetuate oppression.
"As we strive toward collective liberation [with and for LGBTQ communities], we must pursue anti-carceral approaches to justice."

Today we're honoring the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia, and Transphobia (#IDAHOBIT2021). We must acknowledge the ways the domestic violence movement has historically erased queer experiences and do better in showing up for queer survivors and communities. We're honored that the LGBTQ Institute on Intimate Partner Violence has joined forces with NRCDV. #1Thing you can do today is check out their work: lgbtqipv.org
βThe separation between work and personal life reenergizes us, but when your work comes home with you, we can be more susceptible to burnout. It is important for advocates to prioritize their wellbeing and set boundaries on their work schedule in order to keep going during this crisis," shares #TeamNRCDV's Ivonne Ortiz in reflecting on wellness this #MothersDay.
#1Thing you can do to take action this Sexual Assault Awareness Month (#SAAM2021) is to use your online platforms to connect with and support Black-led organizations that are creating healing spaces for Black survivors. Learn more on the #DVAP blog here. β¬οΈ
