Okay okay okay, what if Dusknoir was the hero’s first partner back in the future? Like, back when it was just a little Dusclops. But then they found a Pokemon egg, and it HATCHED which wasn’t supposed to be possible but somehow it did. So the hero has to take care of this little Treecko, and loves it and raises it. And it was just as much outta jealousy as much as hopelessness that Dusclops switched sides, and that makes their struggle all the more personal.
