     he’s  been  strategic  about  their  friendly  little  competition  all  night  ,  adding  up  their  individual  scores  on  a  napkin  after  going  back  -  and  -  forth  singing  their  songs  of  choice  .  it’s  been  hours  of  this  ,  and  he’s  using  his  phone  to  calculate  the  final  scores  .  tongue  caught  between  his  lips  as  he  focuses  ,  as  math  has  never  been  his  strong  suit  though  there’s  still  a  good  chance  he’s  messed  up  somewhere  in  the  middle  of  the  process  considering  his  current  state  .  but  nevertheless  ,  he  gets  the  result  he  wants  .  there’s  no  gasp  ,  because  there’s  really   no  surprise  (  not  to  him  at  least  )  that  he  ends  up  with  the  winning  number  .   ‘   a - ha  !   and  there  we  have  it  !  i  won  .  fair  and  fuckin’  square  .   ’    countenance  is  beaming  ,  quick  to  pick  up  the  evidence  and  practically  shove  it  in  the  other’s  face  ;  obnoxious  behaviour  courtesy  of  a  copious  amount  of  soju  accompanied  with  perhaps  one  too  many  hits  of  marijuana  in  between  .   ‘   but  don’t  worry  !  i’ll  give  you  a  consolation  prize  ,  the  best  one  you  could  get  .   ’    then  he’ll  reach  forward  for  the  pair  of  mics  ,  handing  one  over  to  moses  as  he  places  their  makeshift  scorecard  back  on  the  table  ,  a  dopey  grin  stretched  across  his  features  as  he  does  so  .  he  turns  slightly  to  better  face  the  other  ,  a  hand  settled  upon  his  shoulder  as  if  he’s  trying  to  comfort  him  after  such  a  devastating  loss  .   ‘   a  duet  with  me  .  and  i’ll  tell  you  what  ,  i’ll  even  let  you  choose  the  song  !   ’
