XBOX duke controller reactions @ Tokyo Game Show 2001
Unboxing The Hyperkin Duke Controller! The Big Boy Is Back! That's What ...
A cargo jet flew by and deliver this bad boy to me. Booyah!
A slick new green version of the Duke controller is coming for the Xbox One from Hyperkin. We crack open the box to take a look at this slice of Xbox history!
I always loved the giant Duke controller. Even after the smaller controllers came out, all my friends used those, but I continued using the duke. I think I may be getting this Jolly Green Giant of a Controller.

The New Hyperkin Xbox One Duke Controller has bumpers!
When I heard about Xbox and Hyperkin reviving the Duke controller for the Xbox One, my first thought was, “why? please, take me money, but why?” Quickly followed by, “it’s going to be weird not having bumpers.” Then after taking a closer look at the picture uploaded on Seamus Blackley’s Twitter account, I noticed what appears to be BUMPERS.
They look small but without compromising the shape of the original Duke, you have to work with what you have but still... being someone that wants to try to use this glorious, abomination of a controller regularly, this makes it seem feasible? Just for the sake of comparison, here is the original duke controller:
An article by IGN confirms the bumpers are a new feature which means if Xbox and Hyperkin want this controller to be anything more than a novelty item, this addition definitely steers the ship in that direction.
Let’s be real though, unless Hagrid is trying to play 2018′s latest releases on the Xbox One, I don’t think anyone’s hands could actually benefit from the size of this mammoth controller.
Seriously... look at those HANDS.
I had to buy another Duke controller because the first one I got had a faulty left analog stick, plus I actually really don't mind its design. I also ended up getting a Blue "S Controller" with it and I swear it's almost like the blue controller is fresh out of the box. The second "Duke controller" works great even though I did reconstruct it to have the first Duke's analog sticks and controller cover.
Now all 4 of my Xbox's controller ports are filled up, if only it were 2004...
Of course, the fourth controller is a third-party "MadCatz" controller that I do plan on replacing with a Microsoft brand controller like the other 3. Plus, the right analog stick popped off and I lost it about 2 years ago. F*** MadCatz...
