What video games are you playing? Any recs?
for once the answer to this isn't just 'i'm replaying elden ring and zelda' (although i do in fact have an active elden ring file and once i set up my switch in my room i will be playing totk again)
i started clair obscur expedition 33 recently! all the goty hype + me having an actual paycheck again + me being in love with jennifer english* convinced me to finally buy it and i'm obsessed. i keep going off and exploring side areas and getting my ass kicked by optional bosses because i don't want the main story to end. so yeah, i (and the rest of the world) definitely recommend that
i also picked up heroes of might and magic 3 again this week because every couple of years i get struck by The Nostalgia and re-download it. this is the game where the name erathia comes from! i sucked at it as a child and could never get anywhere with it, so it's fun to (slowly) pick my way through the campaigns now. and some of the writing is pretty good for the fact that it's a game from '99 that probably did not care at all about the writing (some of the writing, of course, is lame and cheesy in that old school fantasy kind of way, which is also fun)
also steam next fest is coming up and i'll get to check out some demos for that, so hopefully i stumble across something good there. there were a couple amazing demos last year (undusted: letters from the past has a very chill/cozy/emotional storytelling vibe. i haven't had the chance to play the full game yet but it's on my list. also olga episode 1 hasn't fully released but i liked the demo a lot and i'm excited to see where the rest of the game goes)
*i will also be dropping everything to play 1348 ex voto when it comes out next month
