In my eyes, the split between KSI and the sidemen was somewhat amicable but him posting something like that is just so weird.
Like you stay in a group for 13 years but then all of a sudden, when you leave, ALL youtube groups are bad? That’s so childish idk.
It’s also just a bad take in general. An average viewer doesn’t care for all those analytics and statistics. And even then, being in a group doesn’t automatically mean that people will just refuse to watch their individual channels. I started watching the sidemen and ended up watching and subscribing to their individual channels as well, KSI included. Surprisingly enough, I didn’t know him until I got on the Sidemen grind. Also if a YouTube group gains traction, that doesn’t stop others from collaborating with them or for them to collaborate with others on their own channels. If anything, collaborations done with big YouTube groups elevate others.
Someone in the comments brought up the argument that someone like Bambino Becky gained a lot more views because she worked with the sidemen and he rebutted that the sidemen haven’t gone on her own channel. Which is also just as stupid because Tobi has been on the see it off podcast before, and even if he wasn’t, collaborations must not always be strictly transactional. At the end of the day, as long as Becky showed up on a main channel vid, a wider audience would undoubtedly discover her.
Would he then go on to say that groups like ffw, bov boys, beta squad, bunch of friends, even freaking dude perfect are just harming the YouTube space?
What a weird and targeted thing to say.
