13. “Kiss me”, and I chose Shallura for this prompt.
"Corandefinitely said we could find the spangelameter on the east side of this market, right?" Shiro asked Allura as theywove their way through another row ofstalls selling all many of foods. They mostly smelled good, but delicioussmelling food was very different to a device that was meant to help them builda machine to disable a Galra ship's warping capabilities.
Allura sighed."Well, he did say our recordswere out of date. I imagine a market of this size changes its layout every fewdecaphebes."
Shiro rubbedthe bridge of his nose. "I hope the others are having more luck than weare."
A handsqueezed his shoulder, and he looked to see Allura smiling sympathetically upat him. It was strange to see her with green skin and red hair, but it wasnecessary for her disguise in a market that was on a planet technically under Galra control, even ifthey didn't properly exercise that control so the biggest market this side ofthe galaxy could trade freely.
"Don'tworry, I'll give Coran a good talking to about relying on our out-dateddata," Allura said. "You would think by now that he would havelearned."
Shiro snorted."You'd have thought. Well, let's keep looking anyway."
They walkedthrough a couple of more rows before the Galra presence suddenly became a lot stronger.
Shiro pulledAllura closer as they stood by one stall selling spices in a variety of shadesof blue as a pair of sentries marched behind them. "We need to findsomewhere to lay low for a bit," he hissed at her. "The longer we'reout here, the more chances we have of being seen."
"I thinkI saw a public house a few rows away," Allura whispered back with a nod."We can go there for a bit, and contact the others."
Shiro letAllura lead the way, and soon enough he caught sight of a brightly paintedbuilding rising over the stalls. Shiro almost let himself relax as they madetheir way across the final walkway to the entrance of the public house--theynearly made it!
Suddenly agroup of six sentries with two Galra soldiers rounded the corner and made theirway towards the public house as three sentries and Galra soldier came out of the public house. Shiro grabbedAllura's hand and took the lead, tugging her away from the entrance to the publichouse, and instead into an alley way between the last stall and the wall of thepublic house before they could be noticed. It smelled wretched, but it wasshadowy.
They bothpressed themselves against the wall, holding their breaths, waiting.
"One ofyou! Take a sentry and check that alley way! Can't have any rebels thinkingthey can run away!" one of the Galra soldiers yelled.
Shiro andAllura stared at each other with wide eyes.
There wasnothing Shiro could do--they could try and fight their way out, but that wouldonly blow their cover, but if they did nothing, their cover was as good asblown anyway.
"Quick,kiss me," Allura whispered.
"What!?" Shiro said, trying to keephis voice down, but very much wanting to shout.
"Lancesaid that people are less likely to look at people kissing because publicdisplays of affection make them uncomfortable, so kiss me!" Alluraexplained quickly but quietly.
"Why are you listening to Lan--mpf!"
He was cut offby her grabbing his face and smashing their mouths together. Shiro stumbled andhad to slap his hand on the wall hurriedly to stop himself from falling on topof her. It was kinda painful, but damnif his whole body didn't go entirely hot.
For a longmoment he was too stunned to do anything, but when Allura gave his head a nearpainful squeeze, he quickly started kissing her back.
It was good even though it was kind of a mess. They were both too freaked out to try and make it nice, just trying to make itbelievable. And, well, on Shiro's end it certainly felt believable.
Footsteps gotcloser and Shiro put a hand on Allura's waist to pull her closer, tilting hishead so his nose wasn't quite so smushed up against hers.
Behind him thefootsteps stopped, and a noise of disgust was made.
"Do youtwo, uh, see anyone else come through here?" the Galra soldier askedawkwardly.
Shiro tensed, every instinct screaming at him for having his back to an enemy, but Allura puta hand on the back of his neck as their lips parted with a smack, pulling hisface down into her neck to keep it hidden.
"N-no,"she said, a little breathlessly. "It's just us."
The soldierhumpfed. "Well. As long as you don't act indecently while still inpublic--carry on."
Then thefootsteps marched away.
Shiro pantedinto Allura's neck, and they waited until the group had left the alley waybefore pulling away from each other.
"That wasclose," Allura breathed.
"Yeah,"was all Shiro could say. Then he cleared his throat and rubbed the back of hisneck. "We should contact the others. If we haven't found anything, weshould probably retreat the for day and wait for the patrols to quietdown."
Allura noddedwith a hum. "Let's find somewhere a little more private."
Then shemarched off, and Shiro could only follow after her, lips tingling.
Lance was so dead when Shiro got his hands on him.
