9th of 20 - Long Beach Dub Allstars
Long Beach Dub Allstars formed out of the ashes of Sublime. Bud & Eric wanted to continue playing music together, so they formed a band out of a host of people they'd become friends with through Sublime and this is the result. Rock reggae with a heavy dub, they won me over in the Summer of 2001 as it was hot, sunny and this music simply filled that just nicely. I came to them in their second album, Wonders Of The World, where they really started to hit their stride. Some of the songs are very hit or miss, Sunny Hours being a big hit, Every Mothers Dream being a very big miss, but despite that they produced a really solid album. I have no idea why there are so many fans of Sublime who don't know about this band, so if you're new to them, please look them up.
When they broke up, the members formed the bands Long Beach Shortbus, Eyes Adrift (feat Krist Novoselic and Curt Kirkwood), Slightly Stoopid and Dubcat (feat members from Hepcat)
