You are not bound to pray for something particular at a specified time. Instead, our Allah SWT has freed us to call him whenever and wherever we need his guidance, support in this life and Hereafter. Hazrat Umar Bin Khattab once narrated: "I am not worried about whether my dua will be responded to, but rather I am worried about whether I will be able to make dua or not. So if I have been guided (by Allah) then (I know) that the response will come with it)." Power of Prayers: Dua is not just a specified ritual to be performed after every prayer. Instead, dua is emphasized to to an integral obligation in our lives. You are not bound to attempt dua only after salah but Allah SWT has emphasized mankind with the help of numerous reminders in different verses expressing to keep expressing your heartfelt desires and wishes all the time. The more your heart is soft towards the mankind, the more it cultivates sincereity and humbleness in front of Allah SWT. Practice and integrate the power of prayers in your life and make it transformational by channeling what’s in your heart with your Lord and begging for his support and guidance for betterment. Dua is the best conversation medium to pour out what’s in your heart and ask for guidance during the times of trials and distress. “Is it not He Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil.” (Surah An-Naml, 27:62) Our Only Hope! The Lord of all the heavens and mankind knows what’s his each creature is going through then why does he invites us to perform prayer five times a day and to make them acceptable, his mankind has to make dua? Say (O Prophet, that Allah s.w.t. says), “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surah Az-Zumar, 39:53) “The supplication is the essence of worship.” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3371)
