Dream as a trans man is my favorite and is my go-to, but he can be cis if the fic/au calls for it. Also, I've never written or drawn transfem Dream before, but I know a couple of people that have really swayed me in favor of tfem Dream headcanons as well.
As for orientation, gay man. (With a complex about it, of course, especially about being a trans gay guy specifically.) But regardless of gender headcanon I still think Dream is just into men.
