its genuinely so fucked that tommy visited dream and was like i dont forgive you dream but maybe if you write these silly things for me and work on yourself then i can. and tried to "give him therapy." like actually so fucking twisted that tommy in all his pureheartedness was empathizing with dream and willing to give him another chance if he put in the effort even after Everything he'd been through. and then like a month later dream murdered him. this shit is not ok

ahh how i love tommy's compartmentalizing of wilbur. telling tubbo to not let "the real wilbur" down. the wilbur that existed before he "went crazy." who's gonna break it to him that they're both wilbur and he has to live with that

obviously cclingyduo have had disagreements before but the way they both treat this conflict (esp tommy) reallyyyyy gives me "first Real fight of the friendship" vibes purely because of how aghast tommy is whenever tubbo tells him to shut up and doesnt immediately side with him. like he cant fathom the idea of tubbo and him not being on the same side.

i generally think ive grown on ghostbur quite a bit in recent times. i still think the way he was completely separated from wilbur as a character is quite odd and i wish that that had been something that was explored in the text itself rather than just being sort of metaphorical fandom analysis. like i think ghostbur's existence is cool but i wish that characters treating him as Not Wilbur (including wilbur himself) was addressed as another issue of compartmentalization on their parts and not the actual truth of the matter. to me ghostbur should BE wilbur just in a different state and wilbur's insistence on him being separate from him should not be a statement of fact but rather wilbur trying to distance himself from that part of himself. same with stuff like tommy viewing wilbur's revival as "killing" ghostbur
