oh no it’s fine dude!!general info abt the aunc!donald disappeared after fethry, and before Gladstone got captured by Toadfor a while, he did raise HDL. He got this job where he had to go out into the ocean. so he got the kids a babysitter (i’d like to think that he and gladstone got closer to each other, so maybe it’s gladstone?), went off, and never came back. The weather took a turn for the worst, and the ship was lost at sea. Donald ends up at the same island in canon (but. he has an actual Fruit he doesn’t have to eat sand. i can be nice.) Gladstone did not think he could actually take care of the kids, so he asked Scrooge/Beakley instead. (and of course, he’d help too, he just didn’t think that his lifestyle was good for the kids. let’s just say,,,, he never got to keep his promise to help until several years later, yea?)i think that Jose and Panchito got the boat. by this point, the board wasn’t letting him spend any money searching for his nephews/nieces, so they didn’t have much a lot of money to spend from what they already had (they’re broke! mega broke!) to try and find donald. they did not. succeed. they travel all over the world to play, and teach about the cultures tho, and whenever they find someone who can speak one of their languages, they’ll try to get information about donald.this goes for all the cousins, but HDL do not remember him. the first time they find out about him is when they go into the locked rooms in the mansion and find della’s and donald’s room. (may or may not being writing a fic for this,,) Donald comes back during the shadow war. not the best time, but a time! Specifically, when Gladstone tells the kids, “we should forgive scrooge, because it’s what your mom and your uncles would have wanted” and when Magica starts. getting shadows. not sure how it happens yet, but he gets back then. I think he was on a raft, trying to swim home (he rlly should have stayed in JW,,) for the. who’s keeping count- time, and luckily, the currents are in his favor. he gets closer to duckberg, and when magica’s gettin everyone’s shadow, his shadow gets taken too, so he hangs on to it and crashes into the money bin. Not the most flattering entrance. but he sees the kids (and a girl) and immediately recognizes them, but he prioritizes keeping them safe from the shadows then introductions. (the kids just see this guy with a *really* badly cut beard and hair beating up shadows. they just. go with it)when gladstone and scrooge see donald they group hug donald. introductions happen, blah blah, the end
