and sometimes, we were bitter. we  would drown ourselves in alcohol and poetry just to ease the hurt- we would jump through hoops for the ones we love,  even if they would not jump back. there would be times  when we'd share laughter, gathering joy at the thought of new tomorrows. we would tell stories of  our sorrow and smile when they  reached the end, happy knowing there could be another soul  as lost and forgotten- yet similar all the same.

Did I mistakenly make that seem dirty? 

each time you kissed me i couldn't help but feel  that something was missing, ever so fleeting,  your kisses never landed  long, like high-soaring birds who never take roost.  but when you held me in your arms, strong and burly as thick- barked oak, i could feel whole again. your hugs allowed my  heart to take their own  root, digging deep into the earth, your embrace was all i needed to begin to grow. with your arms around my frame, together we could stay in place, with the soil around us forever.

Sorry (not sorry), Dennis ... I feel the need to post this on my blog. This is probably the single most amusing thing I have ever seen on my dash in these 2+ years I've been on Tumblr.
