my friend who lives in Alberta says they were taught in school to save their dryer lint from the filter to make emergency fire starting kits for if power goes out or the car breaks down in the tundra. it's just really easy to die of hypothermia in the plains regions of Canada still and dryer lint is excellent at getting fires started.
