POST DM3 EVENTS.  ( collaborated with @balthastarr ) 

After the Bratt Bot was destroyed and Bratt was arrested, the AVL was closing off sections of Hollywood and taking away items of the wreckage. Dru saw the arm of Clive sticking out of one of the boxes and convinced the AVL to let him keep the box.

Dru takes on the responsibility to repair Clive, which turns out to be more complicated than it sounds. Due to being made in the 80s, Clive's parts were highly specific items no longer being manufactured. Dru knew there was only one place to find these parts, and broke into Bratt's empty lair to retrieve the parts and tools necessary to fix him.  

He isn't exactly expertise in repairing robots — the minions assist him ( in their own silly ways ) and over the course of time, and failures along the way, they are successful.

Upon being rebooted, Clive recognizes Dru and immediately goes into defense mode — Dru yips and gets lasered for the tenth time that week, though he manages to convince Clive to lower his defenses. Rather than having Clive go back to an empty lair, or being sent to AVL prison alongside Bratt, he agrees to stay at the manor as a guest until Bratt presumably breaks out on his own. 

... Which never happens.

Dru is able to befriend Clive over the course of his stay, winning over his trust. The minions warm up to him as well, they party together. 

Dru comes up with a ludicrous plan to team up with high-ranked villains and break them out of the AVL facility, which unwittedly puts Gru in jeopardy. This jailbreak plan includes Bratt, which he mainly set up for Clives sake. As his heart was in the right place, not so much his brain.

The villains, lead by an older miss Belle Bottom, form a temporarily group and plan to trick Dru into thinking that they genuinely want to work with him ( they don't ) and use him as bait for who they really want ... Gru. And, of course, they want to achieve their own personal goals.

When Dru and Bratt are alone, face to face for the first time since DM3 — Bratt is quite unhappy to see him and is ready for a fight. He views Dru at fault for Bratt Bots destruction, along with Clive, and considers the blonde his new nemesis ( replacing Gru's outstanding status... and that says a lot ) 

Upon bringing out Clive as a surprise, Bratt shows brief relief and happiness towards the robot, which is short-lived upon learning that Dru broke into his lair. He gets more riled up and upset over that, which spurs a small argument, and Clive has to break them up. 

Over the course of this story, Bratt and Dru bond with each other which strengthens into a small friendship. The biggest factor is that Clive has trust for Dru and gets along with him, which Bratt holds great love for the robot — its able to help him feel at least ... not super begrudging as before. Dru naturally earns Bratts trust in him and wins over his favor. 

This story will be written in fanfic form in the future :) so I will withhold most spoilers.

... THE GETAWAY DRIVER.  ( collaborated with @thethndr )

Storyline that became very dear to me — Chick Hicks, former racing shyster, hired getaway driver. 

His villainous companion is his sentient race-car, he named Murphy. The car is fast, versatile with virtual eyes displayed over the windshield, many wacky hidden features — including a very important feature : it can self - repair, virtually indestructible. 

In 2009, After getting suspended indefinitely from racing due to "unsportsmanlike conduct" — he gains a unfavorable reputation in the racing world as a "villain" with dirty little tricks. This catches the attention of VNC ( Villain Network Channel ) who offer him a chance to host his own TV show, they want his charisma.  

To make matters worse, a radiating meteor crushed Chicks car overnight. Or so he thought — the next morning it mysteriously repaired itself ... That is when Murphy was born.

Chick airs an overly dramatic and poorly edited commercial on the villain network, advertising himself as a freelance getaway driver. This ad caught the attention of B.althazar Bratt, who was bored channel surfing in his lair. 

For nothing than pure amusement, he decidedly calls the number and charms Chick, when in reality he plans to use Chick as a diversion to lure cops away from a heist he wants to pull that involves a piece for his Bratt Bot. 

They start off on the wrong foot, and when Bratt gets what he wants and bails on him, Chick manages to evade the cops and catch up to Bratt with his race-car. The car in particular catches Bratts interest, he wasn't expecting Chick to have any other real value to him.  

Bratt is interested in Chicks car due to the fascination of the alien technology around it — his goal is to steal it and configure how to use the tech for his own villain gadgets ... especially the Bratt Bot. Therefore he becomes a regular thorn in Chicks side. 

The repeated occurrences of them trying to nip at one another heels in different ways just ends up with them hanging out, and hanging out eventually led to friendship. 

They both have a similar way of communicating, vocally and with body language —  where they end up clicking and bouncing off each other in a fun friendly way. Over time, Bratt drops his interest in Murphy and allows Chick to keep him ( mostly ... ) 

Chick has been best friends with Bratt for some years since then.

Years later when Dru entered the picture, Chick didn't trust him nor like him very much — he doubted Drus nature being sincere. After a while he warmed up to him and they became good friends, eventually part of their own trio. Dru trusts and likes him enough to invite him to family BBQs, much to Grus dismay... Seriously, why did he invite this guy?

In present time, Chick is officially part of a heist trio with Dru and Bratt, with his job being their getaway driver and occasionally he can partake in a heist as diversion. They count on his wheels to drive them back home safely and efficiently.  

All three of them rotate lairs after each heist, so that they AVL wouldn't be able to pinpoint where they are.
