(( Sorry if you've already discussed it and I missed it, but do you have a headcanon for the identical genetic recurrences along Marty's bloodline? "Spacial genetic multiplicity" as a result of temporal fields and stuff, or is that just how genes work in that world? And how do we explain Maggie McFly's looking like Lorraine when Lorraine's DNA would still be part of the Baines' bloodline in 1885? ))
ooc: oh, man. I haven’t gotten into this at all. What’s great is that not only do Marty, Marty Jr, and Seamus look the same, but if we go by the game as well then William looks like him too. And then George looks exactly like his father, Arthur. And, I guess, I’m willing to look past that. They’re all McFlys. It’s fine.
But Maggie and Lorraine. And I’d love to just play it off like ‘oh, well, no one noticed or made any fuss over it so it’s not a big deal’ but Marty definitely made the connection in that funny little head of his because he checks for his pants.
So, I mean, I don’t know. Gonna just go ahead and use Doctor Who as an example. The thing with Gwyneth looking like Gwen. RTD said, ”It’s not familial as we understand it. There’s no blood tie. Spatial genetic multiplicity means an echo and repetition of physical traits across a Time Rift." So that’s probably what I’m going with. Even though it’s weird. I kinda wish they’d just found another role for Lea Thompson to be honest. Made her a distant relative of Marty’s from the Baines side of the family rather than the McFly side.
