1.) A fact about the character:(Comicverse) Edward's lack of seriousness and sincerity is s coping mechanism. He spent so much of his life feeling worthless and being told as much, so now he simply laughs off any insults that come his way. Even if he wanted to be serious, it would be hard for him. He isn't good at facing or handling negative emotions (or just emotions in general) in a healthy way.2.) Why I chose my character:The Riddler became my favorite Batman villain when I saw the Adam West series when I was little. Recently I got really interested in the Batman universe. I've always gravitated towards troubled, arrogant, sarcastic intellectuals, so Edward really clicked for me, and I just found him endlessly interesting as well. His wordplay is interesting, and so is his ridiculous showmanship and desire for attention that's paired with a deep, needy, insecurity and desire for validation. Edward is nothing if he doesn't have an audience or someone to challenge.
