Summary: Underneath the haze of their complicated feelings, wrought by their unfortunate yet eerily similar fates, mutual respect and understanding, love begins to bloom between Bowen and Draco. Each of them handles the intense craving for the other differently. And be it accidental or a carefully thought-out game of chess, they gradually inch closer to each other until they can no longer resist and give in to the tension. But the future lies ahead of them — uncertain and full of doubt, and there are life-altering, even life-threatening decisions to be made. Soon, they realise the rebellion is not a mere fight against Einon, but also a fight for their love. What’s more frightening, even victory cannot ensure their lives will remain tied or spared.
A short excerpt from Chapter 1:
“Will it…” Bowen drew in a ragged breath through the gap between his lips. Pressing a wing against his back, Draco encouraged him to continue. “Will the guilt and sorrow ever cease?”
If his heart had been whole, Draco was sure it would’ve broken in two right then and there. For he couldn’t lie to Bowen, even if out of mercy, he gave an honest answer. “No… It will always be a part of you – like the scar on your shoulder. Despite this, fear not. You will learn to live with it and with each passing day, it will be easier.”
