April 2012 - Nafs | We hope you enjoyed our first issue of the Drops of Knowledge Magazine. If you didn't view it yet be sure to check it out at the app store. We are now taking submissions for this month's issue. Submissions include articles, personal stories, poems, artworks, and videos. Please email all submissions to:[email protected]. And after Wednesday, we will weed out submissions to put into our issue. If your submission does not get chosen please don't be disheartened. You can submit again every month. Please edit before submitting. In order to help you understand the topic a bit more we have the following blurb: Nafs is an Arabic word loosely translated to the inner ego, inner self, and inner satanic side. Nafs is used to describe the life behind all kinds of desire. Desire for wealth. Desire to be in a relationship. Desire to smoke weed. Desire to drink. Desire to party. The difficulty lies in overcoming these desires and understanding them. Why did Allah give us this desire? How does Allah use our own nafs to test us?
