FMLS90 Challenge, Day 25
Day 25 - Today, lets talk a little about positive self talk. Are you generally positive or negative with yourself? Do you have any tips for being nicer to yourself?
I try to be positive with myself, but I certainly fall short of that goal quite a bit. To be honest, when I'm staying on plan and exercising regularly, I think it's easier to stay positive than when I'm eating like crap and not working out. So, I guess the answer is I'm generally positive when I'm doing well, and mostly negative when I'm not. When I've fallen off 'the wagon' and am binging on crap, I'm definitely not pleased with myself and can be pretty brutal with the negative self-deprecating talk.
Even when I'm losing weight and doing most things 'right', I can get negative when I see the loose skin (which is now getting pretty wrinkly) on my body. When it was filled with fat, I didn't have the wrinkles. I worry about how much worse it will be as I continue to lose the weight. I try to put those worries out of my mind, though, and tell myself that when I get to my goal weight and stay there for a while (I don't know how long 'a while' is), then I can check on getting something done about the wrinkly skin. I tell myself that the most important thing is to be fit and healthy and some extra wrinkly skin isn't important. Then I tell myself that if I fill that skin with MUSCLE, it won't be so wrinkly. :-)
I honestly don't have any tips on better self-talk. I'm still struggling with being nicer to myself and loving myself, honestly.
