With great sadness, I announce the passing of the great Dr. Nathan Hare. He created the first Black Studies Department in the US at San Francisco State Univ. No words can express the debt of gratitude that we, Africana Studies, owe for his dedication and sacrifice. RIP Dr. Hare.
He and his wife taught me so much about life, how to be a man, and survive in an environment full of hatred, discrimination, and racism. Farewell to another great hero.
