With picturesque rocky peaks, narrow canyons and open woodlands, the Dripping Springs Natural Area is one of the most beautiful places to photograph in New Mexico. The Organ Mountains overlooking the area are named for their steep spires that resemble the pipes of an organ. They rise over 9,000 feet in elevation and provide a haven for hikers and adventure seekers. With over four miles of easy hiking trails, there are excellent opportunities to view wildlife and walk along the low elevation pinyon-juniper and oak woodlands. You can't beat the magnificent mountain views. Photo courtesy of Ryan Fitzsimons.
