Story:
Driftbranch was an undeniable catch, and Crowberry had been thrilled to land him as a mate at first. But after so many fruitless attempts to have kits, his eyes started to wander.
She had beaten Lilypaw into the ground for flirting with him once, and did it again when she got her warrior name of Lilywater.
Eventually, Lilywater moved on, though not before hissing that Crowberry’s supposedly faithful mate had more than one pretty she-cat in mind.
As time passed, and Crowberry became Crowstar, and she became more suspicious.
A few inquiries led her to Daylegs-- a pretty, if snarky queen-- who admitted that Driftbranch was seeing at least six other queens, at least two of whom were Thunderclan.
Crowstar had drowned her, trying not to believe the slander. It was harder than she’d thought, but she managed.
She had returned to camp, exhausted, then gone to Driftbranch and attempted to groom him. Only to accidentally sit on the she-cat he had been hiding under their nest.
She was livid, and chased Poppyface away from the Clan, threatening her with every horrible thing she could think of even as tears rolled down her cheeks.
A patrol found Poppyface’s body the next day. Guts ripped out and strewn across the thunderpath.
Driftbranch apologized, and like a fool, she believed him. Why shouldn’t she believe him?
She only realized she’d been a fool when he held her under the water.
