forgotten souls by mother mother + danny phantom or dsmp -Raccooninnit
Ever since Danny had defeated Pariah Dark, he hadn't known what to do with the castle.
Legally, it belonged to him now (or at least as close to legal as there was in the Ghost Zone). He owned it because Pariah had no heirs and Danny had bested him in combat.
Okay. So what does one do with a castle they don't want?
Tucker suggested turning it into a crash pad, decking it out with tech and modernizing it, beanbags, game consoles, the works. Danny thought that sounded nice, but he wasn't sure how the ghosts would feel about their king's former castle turned into a hangout spot for three (mostly) living teenagers.
Sam wanted to turn it into a big science experiment, seeing what plants could grow in the Ghost Zone, and while finding out more about the GZ sounded cool, there were a lot of rooms to fill, and plus there was a high chance he'd be the only one able to eat any of the food grown around that much ectoplasm.
It was Jazz who came up with the winning idea.
"There have got to be ghosts who don't have a place to stay in the Ghost Zone." she said. "Why not let them live at the castle? It's big enough."
Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz spent a weekend clearing the place out of the assorted torture devices and junk like that, then Danny asked everyone to spread the message that the Castle for Forgotten Souls was open for business!
Ghosts flooded in, some without clans, some who'd been kicked out of families, and some who'd just been on their own for years.
Danny recognized some familiar faces in the crowd (the Box Ghost had been kicked out of his clan?), and he decided he had something to say.
"Hi everyone," he said, amplifying his voice, cringing at how squeaky and immature he sounded.
"I just wanted to say, no matter your situation, I hope you can come to think of this place like home." He formed a cup out of ice, and raised it in a toast. "To new beginnings."

I wanted to do something more lighthearted for this one, and I went with it. Literally draft idea I had for this: âIf I went gay, Iâd go gay for Nevinâ *fighting ensues*
Pairings: Nevin/Edward, Isaac/Chris and Drew/Barry
Warnings: None
---
The grandfather clock in the corner of the room read roughly 11 am, as Drew and Edward sat on the couch and talked, which was about as early as Edward would come around during a weekend, but Drew didnât mind too much. Not everyone was an early bird like him, and he DID ask Edward to come over, so it wasnât a huge deal that it was later in the day.
However, it seemed Nevin also had plans this morning, as he and Chris were doing some experimenting with breakfast. While Edwardâs and Nevinâs relationship had mellowed out, mostly to the point of playful jabs and some truthful insults, they werenât fighting or being angry at each other, which Drew was thankful for. Despite Edwardâs reputation as the School King, the Bully to End All Bullies, he was actually a pretty nice guy to talk to and seeing how his brain ticked as he talked fascinated Drew. The man seemed to have so many great ideas and conversations that poured out of him - alongside the dumb ones, of course, but there was always a caveat to great things.
Currently, they were discussing how they figured out the sexualities of themselves and/or their friends.
âI dunno about Geno, but I can see the puppy love coming from Reuben,â Edward mentions. âGeno doesnât seem to like him that much, but Reubenâs going places.â
Drew gave a lighthearted chuckle. âMy brother came out to me a few years ago. I donât think I ever really paid attention to it that much though, so I didnât see any of the so-called signs.â
Edward snorted. âI didnât really pay attention much to your brotherâs sexuality at first, but heâs definitely gay.â
âMaybe the rainbow wristband tipped you off? Or the fact he told you himself?â Drew joked.
âDefinitely the former. We don't talk about the latter.â
There was a hush between the two as Nevin and Chris were making breakfast. They were apparently trying to see if Nevinâs protein pancake recipe heâd found lying around could be improved, because Nevin wanted to make them taste better than a box of chalk. Despite their differences and bad start to their platonic relationship, Nevin had a way of enjoying the simple things and had a knack for being blunt as hell, though the latter didnât nearly bother Edward as much as heâd let on. Nevin and Drew also had an incredible knack for guessing his emotions, which was fun at times, useful at others, and plain annoying anytime else.
This was one of those days with Drew picking up his emotions.
âSo⌠youâve only had a few girlfriends in your past?â Drew asked, raising an eyebrow. âNobody else? Not a boyfriend or a datemate?â
âDatemate?â
âGender neutral term for boyfriend or girlfriend.â
Edward shook his head. âNo, not really. Iâve only like girls.â
âI used to think that too, though it was mostly based on a single crush back in early middle school. I figured out I was pansexual during freshman year though, mainly because there were two kids I liked. One was a guy, and the other was⌠Nonbinary or agender, I canât recall now. Point is, you never really know,â Drew hummed. It looked like he was clueing Error up on something, but Edward couldnât pinpoint what Drew was trying to subtly tell him.
Edward shrugged, a little peeved that Drew wouldnât just come out with it, but instead of being rash he just shrugged. âIâm straight as hell, but if I went gay, Iâd go gay for Nevin.â
If only Edward knew what pandemonium that would unlock. He had said it at the exact worst time, when Chris and Nevin werenât speaking, so the only person that was talking was Edward, and he was heard loud and clear.
âExcuse me?â The emo turned to Edward from his position in the kitchen. âWhoâd say someone could even turn gay?â
Edward gave Nevin a deer-in-the-headlights look but it was quickly replaced by annoyance. âIâm just saying, if I hypothetically would go gay, Iâd uhâŚâ He trailed off.
Nevin crunched up his face as he flipped over pancake test number three. âFull offense, being gay isnât a choice, just like being straight isnât one.â
Error shook his head. âStop pullingâ my arm, Emo, you know what I mean. Iâm not saying people can change sexualities.â
Nevin snickered. âShould I feel honored that the so-called King of Foxfield would date me if he was gay?â
Despite the playful tone to it, and Chrisâ muted laughter, Edward seemed to have an adverse reaction. âWhat - hell no, dude, Iâm not interested in dating you,â he jumped the gun.
It made Drew facepalm and sigh. Here we go again.
You see, Drew had noted that Edward had taken a liking to Nevin. At first, it was probably nothing more than friendship, but over time Drew had noted the fuzzy feelings that had come from when Drew had talked about his brother, or when Edward wasnât always directly talking to Nevin. But there was always a sense of spikiness to cover the fuzzy feeling when Edward was talking to Nevin, and it made Drew wish he could uncover it and see why it was there. Edward was so interesting, and this was one of the many ways he was interesting.
Chris snorted at Edwardâs words. âYou literally just said you would if you could. Iâm calling bullshit,â he called Edward out, as he looked over at the pancake. âThat looks really good.â
âThatâs what you always say about my breakfast.â
âThatâs because itâs true.â
Edward rubbed his temple at Chrisâ words but didnât say anything in response. It struck a chord within him.
A few silent moments passed between Drew and Edward, as Nevin and Chris continued their breakfastolism shenanigans. In a voice quiet enough for only Edward to hear, Drew voiced âHey, nobody hereâs judging you about that, alright?â
Edward frowned. âDid you even hear our interaction?â
Drew nodded. âNevinâs gay, Iâm pansexual, Chris is⌠Chris,â Drew gave a sharp exhale through his nose to indicate amusement at his own words, giving a smile to Edward. âI just⌠I know what itâs like to coquet, and Iâm not too sure that your flirting would fit into the definition of that. Iâve noticed you have feelings for my brother.â
The spikiness that covered the feelings of love came up, and Edward frowned. âDrew, Iâm not gay and Iâm not gay for your brother!â he yelled at Drew but seemed to have regretted it immediately afterwards. He didn't like yelling at Drew - he didn't deserve that. âSorry.â
Nevin looked over at Error and squinted at him. âYou better not be harassing my brother like the first day you met him, Mr. Swagger,â The joke was there, but there was a warning underlying in his tone.
Edward glared at Nevin, then sighed. "I won't, don't worry."
The conversation moved on from there - Drew had realized talking to Edward about his feelings for his brother wouldnât be worthwhile today, so they moved the conversation from there.
Chris had gotten a call from his dad and had to leave in a hurry, leaving just Drew, Nevin and Edward in the house. Edward felt uneasy after his outburst with Nevin, but neither Drew nor Nevin gave him shit for it, which was unusual for the latter.
As Drew and Nevin talked amongst themselves, Edward got to thinking. Do I have feelings for Nevin? Edward asked himself then shook his head. No, thatâs ridiculous.Â
Nevin raised an eyebrow at Edwardâs head shake, but didnât make a mention of it. From then, Drew got a call. âOh, I got to take this,â Drew said with a blush and a small giggle, taking the call and walking into his room. âHey Barry!â was the final thing Error and Nevin could hear before he closed the door.
âAnd then there were two,â Nevin remarked.
Now it was Nevin and Edward sitting in the living room, alone.
Awkward.
Not knowing what to reply, Edward stretched his arms until he felt a satisfying pop, giving a sigh.
â... So,â Nevin started. âAbout the thing you were saying earlier.â
Edward wrinkled his nose. âOh, yeah, donât worry about it.â
Nevin squinted at Edward, not fooled by his obvious attempts at trying to divert the conversation. âWho are you and what did you do with Edward?â
Edward suddenly snorted loudly. âHey, câmon, I thought everyone liked this new version of me.â
âI like that youâre not being an ass, I didnât say I liked you acting like a completely different person. Now what the fuck is up?â
Edwardâs expression fell. âDude, I wasnât trying to get with you. Youâre already boyfriends with Chris.â
âChris? Heâs dating Isaac, weâre just friends.â
âHuh?â Edward gawked.
âDude, how did you not know this? Youâre practically in Isaacâs business all the time.â
âHey, for your information , Iâm trying to be better at respecting peopleâs privacy!â
Nevin shook his head. âWere you serious about that?â
âI mean, Iâm getting better, arenât I?â
âNot that, Baron Browbeat. Iâm meaning the going gay thing.â
Edward stayed silent for a moment. Nevin could sense how his emotions shifted and changed, and his gaydar had always pinged when it came to Edward. The tallest always seemed to repress things when it came to some emotions - smugness, anger, frustration had always been commonplace and was freely expressed, though more healthier nowadays, but other feelings cropped up when Edward didnât know he was around. But when Edward talked to him, there was always a form of barrier, and it had puzzled Nevin for a while.
So, fuck everything, heâs going to get into the bottom of this.
âI made those same kinds of joke with one of my friends before I figured out as gay,â Nevin began. âI didnât figure it out until I realized I was being serious that I was gay.â
Edward didnât answer.
âEdward, is there something wrong with being gay?â
âNo!â Error said almost instantly, but piped down just as fast. âNo, Iâm not bothered by people being gay. Or bi. Or stuff like that in general.â
âI seeâŚâ Nevin hummed. âIs it wrong if you are gay? Or bi, or pan?â
âUh-â Edward paused as he thought.
Of course, Edward wasnât bothered by others, but why was he uncomfortable with the idea of him being gay? A memory of his birth mother came into his mind, and he winced as he remembered how painful it was and shoved it away. He didnât want to think about her. âItâs personal.â
Nevin gave a soft sigh but didnât push. âSo itâs personal,â he hummed. âYou know, none of us would judge you if youâre bi or something.â
âBut a number of people at the school probably would. I know Dez gets some harassment from time to time.â
âArenât you the so-called School King, though?â
âWhy yes, I am, but there hasnât been a School King that hasnât been straight.â
âAre you inadvertently saying that you arenât straight, then?â
Edward sighed and looked away for a moment. âThatâs the best youâre gonna get. Iâve been having doubts for a while.â
Nevin nods. âIâm not going to out you. Thatâs shitâs not cool.â
Edward looked back at Nevin, and this time smiled. âThanks, Emo.â
âShut the fuck up,â Nevin grinned as he gave a small shove to Edward.
âLoner Nerd,â Edward gave a shove back.
This ended up turning into a play-wrestling match between the two, and one Nevin wasnât willing to lose at all costs. His eyes flashed cyan as he and Edward struggled to keep the other down on the couch. Edward whined about how unfair it was, but he ended up being the loser with Nevin over him, cuddling on the couch. Nevinâs face was against Edwardâs shoulder, and one of his arms was around Edward while another one was held at Edwardâs shoulder.
âGay motherfucker,â Edward joked, looking at Nevinâs rainbow wristband.
âYouâre one to talk, I can tell how gay you are for me,â Nevin said as he leaned up and kissed Edward.
Edward had 404âd, unable to really reply at that, looking rather flustered and shellshocked at the kiss. At that moment, he noticed Drew was at the base of the stairs, looking at the two of them with a look of triumph. âTook you long enough!â
âHow long were you there, Drew?â
âLong enough to see that kiss!â
Edward hid his face with his hands momentarily, blushing to all hell and back. Drew gave a soft giggle as he got himself a glass of ice water in the kitchen, happy to have finally gotten Nevin and Edward together. Nevinâs feelings for Edward had gotten so happily saccharine, Drew had to step in.
âI like this,â Edward sighed as he fully relaxed on the couch.
âSame,â Nevin said. âAnd I like you too.â
âThatâs gay.â
âYeup, and Iâm gay for you.â
A pause.
â... Boyfriends?â Edward asked.
â... Boyfriends."
Drew gave a silent âyes!â as he fist pumped. Mission: Gay and Closeted Get-Together was completed, and he could tell the sunshine that poured between Nevin and Edward meant how happy they were.
Iâm setting certain boundaries for one of my characters who is a learned shapeshifter (wasnât born with magic but learned it) so he isnât completely invincible and there are so many bases to cover sksksksks. I may post the qualifications later because it got its own section but around here we develop our characters like this so we donât end up with Mary Sues (my character is a boy but idk and idc about the name for male Mary Sues so weâre calling it Mary Sue because itâs easier)
Lori had fallen asleep on top of the keyboard again, and the pressure being put on half of it wouldâve caused some trouble for the assignment if she hadnât woken herself up in time. âFocus, Lori. The rough draft is already finished, now you just need to finalize it.â She stared at her watch. âWithin five sleepless hours.â She droned.
3:45AM ]
A lot needed to be fixed on the assignment, quite unfortunately. The teenager had been so busy texting her beloved âBoo-Boo Bear, that she had not paid attention to the quality of her work! She just finished typing and was ready to go to sleep. âOh, hi Lori.â Leni yawned. The eldest sisterâs eyebrows furrowed as she put a finger over her lips. âShhh! Ho back to sleep, Leni!â Lori warned in a hushed tone. Youâll wake the others up!â Leni was too tired to even ignore her, and just passed out her bed. Lori shook her head. âLeni, Leni, Leni.â She clicked save on the computer, and was about to turn in when she looked over at her younger sister. âGood night, Leni.â She whispered, running her hand over her hair. A smile formed on Leniâs lips.
âNight, Lori. Good luck with you essay.â Lori went wide-eyed at her response. Was she paying attention this whole time? She smiled gratefully, âThank you, Leni. I can always count on you for support.â She walked back to her bed and pulled the sheets on herself after turning off the light.

fourth of July by Sufjan Stevens with the dp hazmat au*? Or dsmp with Tommy if you'd prefer, I just have the brainrot right now.
(*hazmat au is essentially danny being in a proper hazmat suit when he dies, and so he's stuck in that which limits his abilities a lot, and then over time the suit gets worn down until it's destroyed in a big fight, at which point people realize two things:
1 he's a kid, and 2 he's much more powerful without the suit on.)
-Raccooninnit
Danny really should be thankful he's managed to survive this long.
Okay, "survive" might be pushing it a bit, but he'd managed to wear holes in the palms of the gloves so his ectoblasts actually worked, but that was it. He could fly and he could shoot. With enough energy he could make the suit stretch and disappear with him, but why would he want to exert himself that much?
Now, staring down at one of his best friends, currently possessed by a ghost, he kinda thought that this was it. No way could he hurt Sam, and no way could he dodge all the stuff that plant-wielding ghost could throw at him.
He did have to try though.
So he blasted towards her.
She yelled and shot thorns at him, and wasn't that scary coming from the girl who had helped him with his English homework the night before.
He managed to dodge the first few rounds well enough, but one caught him on the shoulder, tearing through his suit and his shoulder with a gruesome ripping sound.
He winced and kept flying, soaring circles around Sam and using his ectoblasts to shoot vines away, carefully keeping them away from Sam's possessed body.
Not-Sam (Danny was sure whatever was possessing her had said it's name. but he couldn't remember) was not as careful. She whipped a thorny vine straight at his head, and Danny wasn't fast enough.
It busted open his hazmat hood into two halves, which fell away.
Danny's head was free.
Holy shit, my head is free!
Not-Sam snarled, and lashed a vine around him, dragging him closer to her. "You just lost your protection, boy." she taunted in a creepy, double-layered voice that was both Sam and whoever the hell was in there with her. "What will you do?"
Danny grinned. "This."
He took a deep breath and screamed. Not-Sam howled in pain, and Sam's red eyes dimmed as a ghost burst out of her.
In one swift motion, Danny captured the ghost in the thermos.
Sam lay unmoving on the pavement.
Danny grabbed her shoulders, her head lolling sickeningly. "Sam? Sam, you gotta wake up!"
She groaned. "Dan...ny?" Her eyes squinted against the light, then widened when she saw Danny. She gripped his arms. "Danny! Your suit!"
"Yeah, it fell off! Now I can use that ghost scream!"
"No, but - your hair!"
"My..."
Sam fumbled for her phone and pressed it into Danny's palm.
He looked...supernatural. His hair was a ghostly white, his eyes were radioactive green, his freckles glowed lime green.

Grian wasn't supposed to stay.
The Watchers had sent him down for one year. That was it. He was supposed to observe the Hermits in their season 6, make sure they weren't using forbidden magic to do the things they did.
Grian discovered many things when he disguised himself as a Player.
He discovered that the Hermits had many hybrids among them, which, while not necessarily forbidden, definitely was looked down upon in the community.
He discovered that the admin, Xisuma, hated using his magic and preferred to be treated just like one of his players. That was different than most of the admins Grian had known, who would abuse their powers to pull enchanted gear from thin air.
Most importantly, Grian discovered how it felt to be loved.
And then the moon was falling, and Grian knew it was all his fault.
He had ignored the Watchers' summons for years, pretending all was fine, that he could stay with the Hermits forever.
But now, floating in the void, he felt magic enclose around him. A deep voice said, "You have been unwise to ignore us, little bird."
Impulse looked at Grian. "What? Grian, what's going on?"
Grian smiled brokenly. "I'm sorry. All of you. I should have - should have told you."
The Boatem members - his friends, his best friends - gathered around him, all of them clinging onto him like they could stop the magic from taking him away.
"I'll never forget you, really, I won't." Grian said, voice trembling. He knew he should be strong, reassure them he'd be fine, but he didn't know if he would be. Not without them.
"I love you guys."
And with that last whisper, Grian faded away, leaving a gaping hole in the cluster of the Boatem crew.
