the monster thing but i wrote a quick drabble
“So, from what I understand, you’re… living on a spaceship, and are also a monster, right?”
“Yep! Welcome aboard the Pink Skies, Sua.”
The Pink Skies was a ship true to its name, a flying and flaming pink Hello Kitty head. Inside the opening to the Pink Skies there was already someone waiting for the two of them.
Normally, Sua wouldn’t have reacted, however…
The man waiting for them was a rather terrifying sight, his eyes were covered by some black bandages, but that wasn’t the scary part. His hands had mouths on them, and blood poured from the bandages covering his eyes.
“This is Jay, but most people just call him the ‘Azure Dragon’. Jay, this is my human friend, Sua.”
“So I’m the “human friend” now?” Sua couldn’t help but giggle, she hadn’t ever been referred to as a human friend before.
“If I don’t mention that you’re human, some monster might try to kill you by accident.”
“Come, let me introduce you to everyone else.”
As they walked further into the spaceship, there was a twinge of silence in the air. Sua hadn’t seen Dream in over six years, but the sudden raid of her home-world and being rescued by Dream made her feel a bit of melancholy. If Dream hadn’t become such a well-known criminal, would her world still be the same?
The thought was hard to imagine. But at least she was alive. That was all that mattered, right?
When the two passed by a fish-tank looking thing, Dream suddenly stopped.
“River?” She knocked lightly on the glass, and suddenly, a mermaid appeared!? The mermaid-being swam around a minute before swimming away. And then it happened.
The mermaid jumped out of the tank and landed right next to Sua. The stink of fish entered her nose.
“This is River, he’s a water nymph. River, this is Sua, she’s a human.”
River leaned forward, almost pressing his nose to Sua’s. “Uh, hi?” She mumbled, leaning back out of his face.
He blinked, and then jumped back in his tank. Weird.
“Next, let’s go find Fruit.”
These names were getting increasingly weird, but Sua had a feeling it was just “a monster thing” and decided to ignore it. But monster customs… if you had told her ten years back that she would have to worry about offending literal monsters, Sua would’ve made fun of you in some poorly written groupchat.
They continued walking around the spaceship, until a demon-looking thing appeared. It was only a second that Sua saw it though, because in an instant the being disappeared once more.
“Oh, that’s Fruit, she’s really sweet but also incredibly shy. It’ll take a while before she warms up to you, don’t worry about it.”
Dream took another deep breath. “Shay’s out doing stuff for us, so it’ll be a while before they come back.
Since our tour is over, I wanted to give you an official welcome to the Pink Skies. It is the last place you’ll see, after all.”
