I read Carmilla once but I don’t remember enough about it to speak of the reworking but I will say that I enjoyed this immensely. The writing was excellent, the plot compelling, the narration superb; this one resonated…. but, ultimately, it was lacking something essential (for me). 

Despite my issue with this I definitely recommend this one.

The plot is engaging, the writing flows, and the narrator does a great job of bringing the characters to life. 

I adored this story, absolutely adored it. 

This was my first time reading the author and I’m already looking forward
