Well, honestly. No. The little cave hidden in a part of the woods behind Pipās house had seemed so much larger when they were both children. Artie was the only person who would go out here with him, as most listened to the adults when they said Pip needed to stay close to home. (They wanted this side of him to die, and somedays, he agreed with them. Artie never seemed to mind it though, and thatās what had made their friendship so easy. The only one Pip could have managed at that age.)
Still, he shifts himself over as much as he can, leaving as much space as he can for Artie to squeeze in. If all else failed, one would end up on the otherās lap, because there was no one out here to tell them that was weird or not how they should be acting or whatever. It was a home away from home. A safe space, and neither of them were quite ready to give it up.
āArenāt you supposed to be at school?ā Yeah. Pip is too. His mom would kill him if she found out heād skipped, but oh well. (Maybe he deserved to be in some kind of trouble.)Ā
